                   Rev. Dave Gilbert 


 
Rev. David B. Gilbert is a native of Reidsville, North Carolina. He was educated in the Reidsville City Schools and graduated from Reidsville Senior High School in 1964. A 1969 graduate of Elon College, he received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration with a minor in history.
From 1960 to 1972, Dave worked as a radio announcer, sportscaster, and promotion manager for WFRC and WREV-WWMO in Reidsville. He taught high school and served as a guidance counselor at Bethany School in Rockingham County from 1969 to 1972.
In the summer of 1972 he held the position of youth director at First Congregational Christian Church in Reidsville.
He later graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, in Wake Forest, North Carolina, with a master of divinity degree specializing in Christian education.
He was ordained in June of 1976. His first pastoral position was at Oak Level Christian Church in Youngsville, North Carolina, where he served from January, 1973, to July, 1979.
During this time, he was also a substitute teacher for the Franklin County School System, a radio announcer for WIZS in Henderson, North Carolina, and a certified EMT with the Youngsville Fire and Rescue Departments.
Bethlehem Christian Church was blessed in August of 1979 when Dave became our pastor. In addition to his pastoral duties, he is presently an adjunct chaplain with the Alamance Regional Medical Center, co-chaplain of the Burlington Fire Department, and chaplain of the Altamahaw-Ossipee Fire Department. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Covenant International Evangelistic Association and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Missionology from this group in 1993.
